Our philosophy
Our work is the belief that software should be free and accessible to all.
We believe that every computer user:It should be free for downloading, run, copy, distribute, study, modify, share and improve their software for any purpose, without paying royalties.Must be able to use their software in the language of your choice.Must be able to use all software, regardless of their disability.Ubuntu License Policy - Our philosophy is in the software we produce, how to distribute and license our conditions, and even contradictory.Install Ubuntu and you can be sure that our program meets these ideals. In addition, we are constantly working to ensure that every piece of software that are available under a license that gives you that freedom.

Free Software
Ubuntu is free software. Always has been, always will be. Do you want free software gives everyone the freedom to use, how and with whom to share. This freedom has enormous benefits. At one end of the spectrum allows the Ubuntu community to grow and share their collective experience and expertise to continually improve all Ubuntu. On the other hand, we are able to access software needed for those who could not otherwise afford - a benefit that is strongly felt by individuals and organizations around the world.Indication of the Free Software Foundation, "The Free Software Definition" freedom behind free software are defined as follows:The freedom to run the program, for any purpose. The freedom to study how the program meets your needs. The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help others. The freedom to run the program and make improvements to the public to improve, so that the benefit of all.

Open Source
Open source is the power of collective action. The power to build a global community of highly qualified experts, enhance and share all the latest software - and make it accessible to all.Open Source was coined in 1998 to resolve the ambiguity advantage of the English word "free" and still growing success and recognition. While some "free" and "open source" for consideration when moving the competition for different purposes, we do not know. Ubuntu includes members who identify themselves proud at a time.Originally, in 1998, coined the term free open source movement, a joint force, which goes from the early days of computers in 1950 to come strong. This community was first responsible for the development of many early operating systems, software, and in 1969 the Internet.

The open source community is growing and now offers some of the best minds in the industry. The goal has not changed the system software should be free and accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Exist without open source, not that many systems and applications that simply take for granted. All the major players enter the calculation, or leave a huge debt creativity, the Open Source community, and continue in their talent and expertise in the development of new products.

In the spirit of open source, Ubuntu is free to download, use, share and improve anyway, at any time.

What is Open Source?
There are 10 basic principles of open source software:

The software should be freely distributed. The program must include source code. The license must allow people to experiment and to disseminate the changes.Users are entitled to know who is responsible for the software they use. There should be no discrimination against any person or group. The restrictions of the license can not use the program in a particular area.No action is necessary to use a distribution license or buy the program.License Must Not Be Specific to a Product. The license may not restrict software. The license must be technology neutral.
